Introduction

I brought my family to El Dorado Hills in 1988.  Coming from a traditional Southern Baptist family we decided to check-out what was called El Dorado Hills Baptist Church.  On our first visit, it was Ellie Retallack who greeted us and made us feel welcome.  The church was experiencing a strong growth period, conducting adult Sunday School at Brooks School due to space limitations. Attendance was running in the mid 200's. But there was trouble brewing.  One Sunday our daughter had invited a few of her friends to church after a sleepover. When we heard about the. Conduct of a  children's leader that day, we decided not to return and started our search for another church to call home. Meanwhile at EDHBC things continued to deteriorate to where the pastor was let go.  After trying out several churches in the area and being committed to find a place where our kids could go to church in the same community where they went to school, when we learned that the church had hired Joe Taylor, we decided to give it another try. This started an adventure that would last another 25 years, ultimately ending last year when  division enveloped the church making it impossible for us to remain.   This blog is about those 25 years.

New blog about old times

After dedicating 25 years to ministry at CCC and seeing quite a few wonderful people who have moved-on, yet still live in the area, thought it would be nice to have a place to connext.
